Whether it's becoming a private or professional commerical pilot or flying for your first time, Humboldt Helicopters has you covered.

Flight Training
 

Whether you want to start your career as a helicopter pilot, or just take a scenic flight. You, yes you can sit in the pilot’s seat and fly a helicopter for the first time while under the supervision of a professional flight instructor.  Or if you prefer, you can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the sights.  If you decide to take the controls, your pilot/instructor will explain the operational systems of the helicopter and you will receive official safety training on the Robinson R-44.  Rides start at $50 dollars for 5 minutes. Flight instruction is $699 an hour. Ground school is $45 an hour. All students or passengers must weigh less than 220 pounds.

Special Operations


With over twenty five years of flight experience and flying with the US Army, Civilian, Corporate, Law Enforcement and Emergency Medical Service. We can provide flight instruction or other special flight service. We provide aerial photography, surveillance, patrol and night vision goggle orientation. If you need specialized training for your career as a pilot, or need a special service from the air, we can provide that specialized and confidential service to you or your group. We also provide firearms training. Whether you're wanting flight training or advanced firearms training we can help. We also provide aerial gunnery training from the helicopter.

Meet Our Crew


We are a family operation at Humboldt Helicopters. Jerry, the owner and certified flight instructor fell in love with flying while flying with his father when he was young. He began his flight training after returning from Desert Storm in the US Army as a military intelligence and weapons armorer in 1992. He has over twenty two years in law enforcment and is retired from the Kansas Army National Guard. Jerry has served as a US Army aircrew standardization instructor, as a Pilot for the Kansas Highway Patrol Special Operations Air Unit, and as a Lead Pilot and Company Flight Instructor for a large Air Ambulance Service with over 30 years of flight experience.
