This policy describes what information LinkTrack collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. If you have any questions about it, please contact us.
Information We Collect
- Account information. When you register we collect a username, an email address and a password. Passwords are stored hashed; we cannot read them.
- Click data. When someone clicks a tracking link we record information about the request: date and time, IP address, browser (user agent), referring page, search keywords when available, and approximate geographic location derived from the IP address. This data is collected on behalf of the link's owner and is what powers our reports.
- Billing information. Payments are processed by our payment providers (Authorize.Net and PayPal). Your card number is sent directly to them; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Support email. If you email us, we keep the correspondence so we can respond and improve the service.
How We Use It
- To operate the service: redirecting links, recording clicks and showing owners their tracking reports.
- To bill premium subscriptions and prevent fraud and abuse of the service.
- To send transactional email such as email confirmations, click alerts and billing notices.
- To send occasional product news, only if you have opted in on your profile. Every marketing email includes a way to opt out.
Data Retention
Detailed line-item click data is kept for 30 days and then removed. Aggregate counters (total clicks per link and per day) are kept indefinitely. If you delete a link, its history is removed with it.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember interface preferences (such as dismissed announcements). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Click data for a link is visible to the link's owner, and, when the owner enables the public tracking option, on that link's public tracking page (visitor IP addresses are only shown to the owner). We share data with service providers only as needed to run LinkTrack (payment processing, email delivery), and we may disclose information when required by law.
Your Choices
- You can update your email address and email preferences from your profile page.
- You can delete individual links (and their history) at any time.
- You can contact us to close your account or ask questions about your data.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the site.
